Endolymphatic Hydrops MRI (Ménière’s Protocol)
At UME Health, we are proud to offer the specialised Endolymphatic Hydrops MRI, commonly known as the Ménière’s Protocol, an advanced imaging technique designed to enhance the diagnosis and management of Ménière’s Disease and related vestibular disorders.

What is Endolymphatic Hydrops?
Endolymphatic hydrops refers to the abnormal accumulation of fluid in the inner ear, a hallmark of Ménière’s Disease. Traditional diagnostic methods can be limited in detecting this condition accurately. Our advanced MRI protocol uses high-resolution imaging with contrast enhancement to visualise inner ear structures, allowing for precise identification of endolymphatic hydrops.
The exact cause of Ménière’s Disease remains unclear, but it is believed to result from a combination of genetic and environmental factors affecting fluid regulation in the ear. Left untreated, symptoms can significantly impact daily life, leading to balance difficulties, hearing impairment, and reduced quality of life.
